character
Positive
The creature has the positive effect that it starts with 1 cursed fish hook.
Additionally, weapon damage scales with 50% curse.
You also get +1 curse when you level up.
Negative
The negative properties are -10 range at the end of a wave and
-5% XP gain at the end of a wave.
start
We start the process with the shredder.
This gives you an increased chance of getting the MP firearm, which we will be using for the runthrough here.
If you find a minigun in the shop, you can always take it with you.
The reduced range due to leveling up would be too poor with melee weapons in the later waves, which is why we rely on ranged weapons here.
We can compensate for the reduced XP gain with items, if we get them.
The special thing about the creature is that you should not buy items from the shop immediately, but rather lock them first and hope that they are cursed.
This allows the creature to benefit even more from the curse that the items bring with them.
You can actually always buy weapons straight away, since the damn bonuses aren't that important.
Always try to have 2-3 items locked in the shop so that you have a good chance of creating a cursed item from it, from which you can benefit even more.
Values
Get some range so you don't suffer too much from the negative range you get at the end of each wave.
The weapon bonus also helps you a lot here.
Offensive
Ranged damage and % damage are your important offensive stats here.
Scaling with Curse automatically gives you increased damage as you level up.
You also get curses from every item you buy in the shop that is cursed.
Defensive
On the defensive side, you mainly need max HP and armor.
% Life Drain is the best value with MP to quickly regenerate HP.
Through the cursed items in the shop, you get increased stats if you are lucky and can curse these items by locking them.
items
Additional fish hooks increase the chance that locked items in the shop will be cursed.
You should also lock the fish hook in the shop for 1 round to have the chance to curse it as well.
With Celery Tea you completely offset the creature's negative XP gain effect and even get extra XP gain during the next wave.
A very good item to eliminate a negative effect.
Scar to compensate for the reduced XP gain is very good.
The peacock also makes up a lot of the negative EP gain here.
Reward
A successful first run unlocks the item Barnacle.
