In Formula 1, engine power can decide between victory and defeat. But not all teams develop their own engines - the question remains: Who drives with which engine?

Not all Formula 1 teams manufacture their own engines. Many of the smaller teams purchase engines from larger factory teams. Below you will find a list that gives you an overview of all engines and teams in the F1 25 game:

Honda/Red Bull Powertrains V6 turbo engine: Red Bull, Racing Bulls

  • Mercedes V6 turbo engine: Mercedes, McLaren, Aston Martin, Williams
  • Ferrari V6 turbo engine: Ferrari, Kick Sauber, Haas
  • Renault V6 Turbo engine: Alpine

Big Changes only in the 2026 Season

Major changes to the engines are not expected until the 2026 season, when the new regulations with new engine rules come into force.

In 2026, Audi will be the second German team to enter Formula 1 by purchasing Sauber. Audi will develop its own engine.

From this point on, Red Bull will develop its engine together with Ford, and the manufacturer Honda will then supply Aston Martin with engines.

In addition, Formula 1 will have an eleventh team: The Cadillac Formula 1 Team will compete for the first time in 2026. It is not yet known which engine the team will use.

What is the Best Engine in EA's F1 25 Game?

In the My Team career mode of F1 25, it is necessary to select an engine for your car. Since the current engine development is frozen to give the teams room for the 2026 regulation change, no major leaps are to be expected for the engines for 2025.

The first tests of the new cars will take place in Bahrain at the end of February 2025. The test will provide an initial indication of the team strengths, but these will mainly relate to aerodynamic components and chassis.
