Formula 1 Driver Changes for the 2026 Season

There are still some question marks in the Formula 1 paddock for the 2026 season. While many new drivers will move up from Formula 2 to Formula 1 in the 2025 season, they often have fixed-term contracts - the future is uncertain.

New Rules - new Teams!

With the new regulations in 2026, two new teams will be competing in Formula 1. The Audi F1 Team will take over Sauber's racing team and will even have its own Audi engine installed in the car.

There is also another big news: An eleventh team is competing in Formula 1. The Cadillac Formula 1 team has bought into the F1 racing series for 450 million dollars.

The American manufacturer General Motors is behind this and wants to develop its own engine. The team will initially purchase the engine and other components from Ferrari until its own GM engine is ready for Formula 1.
