Farming Simulator 25 not only introduces impressive graphical improvements, but also offers exciting new gameplay elements and machines.
One of the highlights is the introduction of rice cultivation, which expands the gameplay with new types of fruit and cultivation methods. Manuel Leithner and Stefan Maurus presented these and many other innovations at FarmCon 24.
Cultivation of two Types of Rice
In FS 25, the player has two types of rice to choose from: Asian short grain rice and American long grain rice. Asian rice is planted directly in water and absorbs the water as it grows.
Long grain rice is harvested with a regular combine harvester and offers a larger yield but is sold at a lower price. This creates a fair balance between the rice varieties.
Creating rice fields is done via the building menu. Here, players can create fields with dams and a water pump to flood the field with water.
Rice seedlings are first grown in greenhouses and then planted in the fields. With this new cultivation method and the new machines that this type of rice brings with it, the player is offered a varied gameplay.
Growing Spinach, Peas and Green Beans
Another new type of fruit is spinach in the new part of the farming simulator. This can even be harvested twice a year, provided the first harvest has taken place on time.
Peas can be planted as early as March, just before green beans are grown in April. This means that in FS 25 there will be a total of 25 crops that the player can grow - a variety never seen before.
New Animal Species and Small Animals
Two new animal species are being introduced in FS 25: Water buffalo and goats. These Asian buffalo fit perfectly into the landscape of the new Asia map and, like goats, produce milk, which you can use to make cheese.
It is even possible to breed and multiply the farm animals. Over time, the young animals grow into productive livestock for your farm.
Tornadoes and Hail Storms
In FS 25 it can get really dark because the weather can change suddenly! Your crops can be damaged by tornadoes and hailstorms.
After everything is over, be sure to check your fields for weather damage to minimize crop losses. This feature can also be turned off in the options.
Improved Helper System
In earlier parts of the FS, the helper either took over all the tasks or you had to do all the tasks yourself. In FS 25 there will now be a steering mode (GPS mode) in which the helper only takes over the driving of your vehicle.
The helpers can now also drive automatically across the field in GPS mode in order to work the field as quickly as possible using optimally calculated lines. They need less space to turn around because they can now turn directly in the field, which means that huge open spaces around the field can be avoided when making maps.
New HUD and Consumables
The HUD has been redesigned and now takes up less space, making it easier to see. However, players on 4K monitors can still scale the HUD larger. In the future, the HUD will also be optimized even better for triple monitor setups, with all HUD elements being displayed on the middle monitor.
Some features have been given even more depth, as you are no longer supported by "ghost helpers" for certain tasks. For example, there are now new machines for baling in FS 25. In order for this to work, they must first be loaded with wrapping film.
