In this article you will learn how the Firelight works in the Progression 2.0 update and what tiers of it are available.

Function

The firelight is generally the formerly known candle.

This can now be used up, so you should be there if you want to test spirits like the Onryo with it.

Also, it no longer keeps you from losing sanity, it just reduces sanity drain by a percentage.

Tier 1

The first tier of the fire light is the candle, which has been known up until now.

However, as already mentioned, this is used up after just a few minutes.

Sanity drain reduction is relatively low at just 33%, making it hardly worth using primarily to lose less sanity.

Still, it's better than nothing, and if you're perhaps playing a large map and need to travel a longer distance, it might still be a good idea to take it with you.

Otherwise, of course, it is suitable for the mission that the ghost should blow out a candle.

Tier 2

At the 2nd tier of Firelight, the low values of the previous level are significantly increased.

The duration is almost doubled at 5 minutes.

This will make it much easier for you to perform a ghost check on the Onryo or complete the mission to have the ghost blow out a firelight.

Sanity drain reduction is increased to 50%.

This level of Firelight is at least half as effective as it was at 100% prior to the update.

This should also make it easier to test if you're cursed if you've used the spirit box and have a Moroi left to choose from.

The range does not change compared to the preamp.

Tier 3

The third and final tier of firelight is a lantern, which also has the same range as its predecessors.

The sanity drain reduction is again increased a little here, to 66%.

The duration of this stage will be completely removed, meaning it will no longer be consumed.

This also removes the negative aspect of "consumable" and you don't have to buy this item again when your mission is complete - unless of course you don't come back alive.

This allows you to perform the ghost tests much better and complete any missions guaranteed.

In addition, this lantern is waterproof, which means that you can also use it in open areas when it's raining or snowing.
