In this post I want to show you a build of the character Mage, with which you can play through the game very well.

First to the positive qualities of the mage.
The Mage starts with +5 elemental damage and 33% increased elemental damage modifiers.
He also gets the items snake and panic sausage at the beginning, which ensure that your attacks can cause fire damage as well as that it spreads to nearby enemies.

The negative traits are -100 ranged damage, -100 melee damage, and -100 technique, which means that we'll only be focusing on elemental weapons and elemental damage here.

I recommend starting the run with either a Torch or Lightning Blade, since the elemental weapons' melee attacks provide significantly more wave control.

All items that give you negative values for melee, ranged damage and technology can be taken without hesitation, especially if you use defensive values such as e.g. Max HP, HP regeneration, life drain or armor or just the offensive values, such as elemental damage, % damage or attack speed.

These are also the values on which we will mainly focus.
Elemental Damage and % Damage are the most important stats to increase the damage value of the Incendiary Damage, which will do most of the work in your run.

Note that it's not your weapon's actual attack that causes the damage (meaning melee or ranged damage), it's your weapon's effect that does the actual damage.

If you have some Lightning Blades, you'll also get the Weapon Perk of Accuracy, which gives you extra crit chance and will make a run-through a lot more enjoyable.

If you successfully complete your run, you will gain access to the Thunder Sword.
