The best builds I’ve tested myself can be found here in a short summary about the different characters in Diablo 4.

Chain Lightning is a ranged attack, like most caster abilities.

The big advantage of the ability is that it can jump onto opponents and will therefore also hit opponents that are further away very well.

Enchantments

Fireball - Enemies explode and deal AOE damage - This effect triggers on every kill and can cause a chain reaction!

Fire Bolt - Set enemies on fire with each attack

Basic Skills

You can also maximize your base skill, Arc Lash, so that it will only be a filler skill later, when you run out of mana for your core skill, Chain Lightning.

You will not actively use the Fire Bolt, which we already give a point to here, but from level 30 for your enchantment.

Core Skills

Your core Chain Lightning skill will be your main source of damage here.

Therefore, you should maximize them as quickly as possible.

Fireball only invests 1 skill point at first, so you can use it for your enchantment at level 15.

This will cause killed monsters to explode and give you a wonderful AOE clear as this effect can trigger a chain reaction.

Reign of the Elements increases the damage of your core skills if you cast them with enough mana.

Defensive Skills

You use teleport to overcome distance, to get out of crowds of enemies, or unstoppable, i.e. when you are stunned, to get out of the same.

On top of that, you get a short damage reduction afterward.

Frost Shield for a shield to deflect damage and gain increased mana regeneration.

Frost Nova to freeze enemies when Teleport is on cooldown or to apply the Vulnerable debuff to them.

The passive points in Glass Cannon increase your damage by quite a bit at the cost of increased damage taken.

Conjuration Skills

We don't use active skills here.

You only benefit from protection by gaining a barrier for each cooldown used.

Align the Elements is an increasing damage reduction against the first strike of elite enemies or bosses.

Mastery Skills

Again, you don't use any active skills.

Devouring Blaze gives you increased critical hit damage against enemies that are burning, which every single monster hit will do with your Fire Bolt enchantment.

Stunning enemies increases this damage bonus even further.

Ultimate Skills

Source: https://d4builds.gg/build-planner/

Unstable Current will be your ultimate skill here.

For the duration, you should definitely always perform a skill.

When you run out of mana, use the Arc Lash to do this, even if you don't hit any enemies, the Unstable Current effect will trigger.

Unstable Current's passive skill also makes you attack even faster.

Coursing Currents increases your critical hit chance with each hit of your Shock skills.

Electrocution causes enemies to deal less damage to you.

Convulsions gives you a chance to stun enemies.

Fiery Surge increases your mana regeneration after each burning enemy you kill.

Warmth gives you a percentage of health regeneration for each nearby burning enemy.

Key Passives

Your Key Passive causes nearby enemies to gain additional damage from your shock skills, which is further increased by critical hits.
